Why “11oz” equals ~330 ml

In mug sizing, “11oz” uses fluid ounces rather than weight. One US fluid ounce is about 29.57 ml. Multiply 11 × 29.57 and you get roughly 326–327 ml. Manufacturers and retailers round this to 330 ml, which is why you’ll see both figures used for the same standard mug.

How it compares to common household mugs

Most household mugs fall between 300 ml and 350 ml, so an 11oz/330 ml mug sits squarely in the everyday sweet spot.
