We love GF Smith. GF Smith are a fantastic UK-based paper merchant offering an outstanding collection of different paper and card options. Founded in 1885, they have gone from strength to strength and now exists as a hugely respected provider of all things paper and card.
Here at Utterly Printable, our ‘premium’ paper stock is GF Smith’s 324gsm Everyday Mohawk. This wonderful paper has an elegant thickness to it and a light textured finish. The card also has an off-white hue to it. We think it’s perfect for classic cream wedding invitations, or elegant and traditional christening invite cards.
You can find out more about this, and our other stationery paper stocks here.
You will see this term next to the 3 premium card stocks we offer on our site, but what does GSM actually mean? Well, GSM is an acronym standing for ‘Grams per Square Meter’. In that sense, it is a metric for the thickness and stiffness of a paper or card stock. If a paper stock has a high GSM then it is thicker than one with a low GSM. Putting this into perspective, 90GSM paper is roughly the weight of standard A4 paper you might find in an office printer. At the other end of the scale, 300GSM to 350GSM is the sort of weight you might expect premium wedding invitations to be printed on.
Here at Utterly Printable, our stationery printing goes all the way up to 650GSM card. This double ply stock is perfect for super thick wedding invitations and luxury save the date cards for weddings.
