Saddle Stitched
What is saddle stitching? Well, it is essentially the printing term for double stapling a booklet. When you see a classic wedding order of service booklet with two staples through the spine, that is saddle stitching.
Sample
A sample is a single printed version of your personalised design. For those of you that have a bit of time on your hands, for example if you are here to design wedding invitations online, then you might well want to arrange a printed sample. Once you have finished personalising your invite, announcement or thank you card then you will be given the option to order a sample. We charge a small, fixed amount for this service and they are delivered by post within 3-4 working days. Sometimes it’s just nice to make sure!
Save the Dates for Weddings
What are wedding Save the Date cards? Save the Date cards for weddings are an excellent little product to help get your wedding journey off on the right foot. You might well be in that stage of your life where all your friends are getting married. And if you’re in the UK, you’ve probably worked out that there are actually only a few months of the year where the weather is likely good enough to actually hold a wedding. For that reason, Save the Date cards are a great way to reserve your wedding day. It ensures that your friends and family won’t get booked up with other commitments, and gives you a bit of breathing room and time when it comes to finding a venue.

Scored
Scoring is what we do to our card before we fold it. For example, to make an A5 wedding thank you cards, we take an A4 piece of card with your design on it. We then cut (or score) through the top 10% of the card along the crease line. This then allows us to fold the card without worrying about the card cracking or blistering. It’s a simple way of making sure we deliver the best folded thank you cards around.
Seating Plans
A wedding seating plan (also often called a “table plan”) is the visual display that helps guests find their designated places at the reception — serving both a practical and decorative role. Super Thick Card
When it comes to events such as weddings, christenings and funerals, sometimes only the thickest card will do. On Utterly Printable, the thickest we go is 650GSM. This is a double-ply board produce by Multiloft. It is essentially 2 pieces of 325GSM card bonded together. The result is a super thick, ultra-premium piece of stationery.
We’re particularly proud of our collection of super thick wedding invitations. And we think the 650GSM card stock pairs very nicely with our range of elegant wedding invitation designs.
Sustainable Paper
When we refer to sustainable paper, we mean paper and card that has been produced by trees grown in sustainably manged forests. In other words, tress that have a minimal long-term impact on forest habitats around the World. The body that oversees and certifies the sustainable credentials of paper stocks and printers (and indeed the entire supply chain) is the Forrest Stewardship Council (FSC). Paper stocks with the FSC seal of approval are what you want to be printing on if eco-friendliness is a matter close to your heart.
